What goes into reserving a kitten?
We work via a wait list which gets priority pick per litter. Getting on our wait list is quite simple:
1. Fill out the guardian application and be approved
2. Be sent and sign the contract --- completion of the contract will be done after kitten information is filled out by us once a kitten is picked
3. Send the deposit of $500 to reserve your spot
Once a litter with a kitten fitting your preferences is born, you will be contacted when kittens turn 10 weeks old. We will most likely offer a kitten better fitting your personality preferences, but will do our best to match color and gender preferences as well. If a litter doesn't have the best kitten for you, your deposit will be moved to another upcoming litter of your choice.
Deposits are nonrefundable if you choose to back out of either the reservation or waitlist.
If we as CrystalStar refuse further service, a full refund will be given.
Our wait list is always open to join for future litters, however specific availability and wait time cannot be guaranteed. Our wait list operates by order of joining, however exceptions are often made for specific families. See the FAQ for more info.
Our prices start at $3800, but may go up with specific traits (such as blue eyes) that require extra health testing like a BAER.
Spay/neuter, HCM dna test, parasite testing, microchip, etc. are all included in full price.
Each kitten also goes home with age appropriate, up-to-date vaccinations, dewormed, and microchipped. Each kitten will also receive an HCM-specific DNA test, typically done at 2-2.5 months of age. Parental and ancestral records of DNA testing, echocardiograms, and OFA Hip Dysplasia screenings can be requested anytime!
Heads up: All records will be sent watermarked to avoid theft. Additionally, certain queens may not have Hip Dysplasia evaluations due to OFA requiring the cats to be 2+ years of age for a proper evaluation. Some girls (typically those born outside out cattery) will receive preliminary screenings.
All cats will have echocardiograms done --- those under or just turning 1 year of age will likely have preliminary results.
We offer a 5-year Health Guarantee, which offers another kitten if your kitten is to pass away within the first 5 years of its life. Understanding that some things unfortunately cannot be prevented, this guarantee covers, genetic, congenital and even acquired conditions or accidents----granted the reasons aren't a direct result of abuse, neglect, or otherwise negligence.
Offering this guarantee, we do not offer money refunds, nor to pay for any veterinary or treatment bills. We highly encourage to continue with pet insurance in case of any unexpected illnesses or conditions.
We cannot take responsibility---unless aresulting in the fatality of the cat---for acquired conditions such as HCM, FIP, Gingivitis, or any other non-genetic/congenital conditions that arise after 1 year of age.
First step towards kitten reservation will be completing our Guardian Application Form!
Please keep in mind that this form may ask certain personal questions, such as full names, family information, address, vet information, etc. You are free to be vague with certain answers, however if approved---understand that we will likely ask for more specifications.
Don't know what colors and traits you like? Learn more about them here:
After filling out this form, you will get an automated email as confirmation for receiving your form, with information on our planned/upcoming litters, currently available kittens, a preview of our contract, and a chance to ask any more further questions you'd like answered in a follow up email. Within 24-72 hours, you will receive said follow up email with an official response of approval or denial and any answers.
Wait list members will have first choice in each new litter. If any kittens don't get reserved by the waitlist, they will become available to the public, and previously approved applicants will have priority over new applicants for publically available kittens.
If your application gets approved, you will be given an option to join our waitlist if we do not have currently available kittens. If we have kittens publically available, you will be sent the contract through email to review again and sign, this time with the kittens information.
To join our waitlist, you will be send the contract as well---this time without kitten information filled in until a kitten is picked.
Lastly, for official reservation, we require a $500 deposit, through Zelle or Venmo. In terms of the waitlist, the deposit will be used to hold your spot and later act as the reservation deposit.
This amount goes into the full kitten price, with the remaining sum due in cash or Zelle at pick up.
After Reservation:

Once a kitten is officially reserved, you will be kept updated on the kitten's growth with occasional pictures and/or videos. At 16 weeks of age, kittens will receive their second shot. Closer to 17 weeks, they will go in for their final vet check, and finally be ready to go home!
